115

Pages of steampunk manuscript, that is. At least 20 pages to go. What the hell is this story anyway? It's either one of the better things I've written, or one of the worst. The remainder of the script is so well mapped out that I'll finish it in January, for sure. Then I still won't know what I've got.

There's only one way to get a better idea: invite those scoundrels and actors back to my house for a live reading. I learned a few things the last time, such as:
1. Do not put the music anywhere near your narrator. It pisses him off.
2. Get the right actor for the part. Good casting is part of the reason the last one went so well.
3. Provide good food and good booze for the actors. They will detect it if you cut either corner. This is also part of the reason the last one went so well.

To any of you actors and wags reading this: pencil me in for the first part of February. I've got a couple of surprises up my sleeve for you (actors need enticing as well...that should be #4).

Thanks again to Frank for reading the first 45 pages and lighting me on fire to finish it. You will be the first person to read the words, "The End." Hopefully, they will be blurry. Get it?

I need a designated clapper. Interested?

Impressive! Good luck with the rest, including but not limited to the slew of drunken actors that will be congregating in your living room.

You are hereby invited to the reading! Incidentally, you fall under the "wag" category.

Hey, that's cool, as long as I'm not in the category that doesn't get any booze.
