- David Alton Hedges was raised in Los Angeles by a pair of saints. After receiving a classical education, he descended into the Underworld, where he learned to smoke and tell lies. The author now resides in Santa Ynez, CA, occupying rooms above a carnival freak-show memorabilia museum. A part-time screenwriter, David makes ends meet by hunting down evil men for pay on weekend nights. His business partner in this enterprise is a slavering German werewolf. On a side note, the author has cheated Death so many times that Death has sworn off poker.
